Does NOT work for ticks Jul 13, 2010 I have been using the spray on my dogs and on myself and putting the food supplement in my dogs food, AS DIRECTED, for well over a year and last week I found ticks on both of my dogs. I find that it does repel fleas and mosquitos, but I definitely cannot recommend it for repelling ticks.
The ticks that I discovered on my dogs were fully attached and one was almost completely engorged, so it offers no protection with regard to ticks.
I'm very disappointed because now I have to search for other alternatives without resorting to harsh chemicals. I will, however, continue to use the spray for fleas and mosquitos, but will have to be more vigilant with combing them after they've been outside.
Good product but upssets my dog's stomach. Dec 24, 2008 This product came very quickly after ordering it, a good sign. It does make my dog's fur silky, another good sign. However it upsets his stomach so I am not using it often. Each time, the next day after using it, he throws up a small amount on our walks. I am still working with giving smaller doses in organic chicken broth to find an amount he can take. He likes it fine and laps it right up. I feel if it did not have the vinegar in it, it would be easier on his stomach. I don't know about the flea effect because he can not take enough for that. S.

Flea Free Aug 06, 2007 I was impressed with this product! We have an 18 month old Pit Bull who developed very itchy ears with a blackish discharge, called ear mites. He would scratch so bad, the ears would bleed and get scabs. We tried EVERYTHING, even drops from the vet. They would go away for a short time, then return. We constantly had to clean out his ears, which he didn't like, but being the sweet dog he is, he submitted to. I saw this was good for fleas so thought maybe it could help mites too. I gave him 1 tbs per day in a bowl with a little shredded cheese, he gobbled it up and after over 2 weeks, no sign of mites, or discharge. This is the longest we've been able to go without cleaning his ears. We will continue to use for prevention. So much cheaper than vet bills and prescriptions, certainly worth a try! I highly recommend - just be advised, it smells like garlic and vinegar! Didn't affect his breath though.
